Log from previous chapters: Go Zero go! Can't wait for his first match. "Don't worry, this will be stopped before any real injury can occur." *3 minutes later* "I'm sorry, you're dog is going to be laid up for half a month, with a cracked tailbone." Oh, how you amuse me, plot convenience.... On a more serious note, though, I do like how Zero has to WORK for his role of respect, and doesn't have his strength handed to him because he's the son of [blank], or some fur color thing. Yoshi's got a little main character syndrome going on, but for the most part, I can just believe that the weight training is paying off and Zero is now just good at adapting to heavy things on him. It makes me root for him a lot more. I haven't read past this point, but I have high hopes that this keeps up! As far as I know, there are no insane moves in this series, like in SSY, so Zero must win without any gimmicks whatsoever. And while that may be boring in some ways, I adore it. Loving this series, so far! Thanks a lot for the translation I definitely agree with Kit, Zero does have to work for his respect and his strength. It is nice that Yoshi has genuinely created an underdog-character. So I'm super excited to see more! I have to agree, I really like how Zero and Makoto can't make it into the biggest tourament association, and (as far as I know) they never find a loophole to get into it. I also like Zero and Makoto's motivation behind everything they do: Makoto said he wasn't even interested in becoming a dog fighting champion if he couldn't defeat Anzai. Anzai's an insane sociopath who plays dirty and that alone was enough for Makoto, before it became personal. Zero also with his mother gone cannot stop thinking about wanting to take Unryuu down. The way they also found out about Zero's tough spine being an advantage is pretty cool, since they can thank Anzai for them improving and knowing how to use it in the ring. I like the face Zero makes when Makoto reveals his ring name. The dog looks so offended like “That's the worst name you could've come up with! I wanted to be called Wild Tornado of Death!” Also, I love that detailed map of where they should go to meet this president... Very nice work, those are some mad accurate art skills. Sagenta must've been colored magenta with all that shame after that lame seri Zero punched out of him. Okay, now to be more serious: Like y'all said, it is really nice to see that Makoto and Zero have to work to get to their goal, and not just enter just like that simply because Zero looks 2cool. It's so unlike other Yoshi stories where the dogs with the pointy ears and fluffy tails are admired as special, and here Zero is viewed as someone lesser than the mighty Tosas. I'm looking forward to his first official fight! And also, Zero is frickin' adorable. View AttachmentThe first dog I ever grew up with was a German Shepherd and Golden Retriever mix, and he looked quite a bit like Billy... So that story breaks my heart on a personal level. It's really nice to see Takeru and Makoto are going to bond, though. I thought he was a one-time character thing, who would be forgotten. And it seems he had a reason for being harsh, rather than just being one of Yoshi's randomly douchey characters. Also he is Japanese AquaFabio, apparently. That's a plus. Anzai, though... ANZAI, THOUGH. Tfw you start loving the sociopath kid because he makes the best faces, ever. Also that dude with the Hawaii shirt in the crowd on page 71. Just sayin'. That wasn't a fight. That was an ass kicking. Even beating up another dog Zero is still super cute and makes me want to hug him! I'm excited to see what's coming next. Billy was a gorgeous dog and that was really a sad story... I wish he had gotten a real story line in the manga, that would've been absolutely heartbreaking. On a lighter note, I love how when Makoto and Zero appeared Takeru just went like "My secret has been revealed, I have no other choice but to plunge to my death from this cliff. Farewell." PS. Zero totally rekt that guy. FINE, RASCAL. TAKE IT AND MAKE IT BETTER THAN MINE WITH YOUR FANCY FONT POWERS. I DON'T CARE. I WASN'T SAVING IT FOR GDA, AT ALL. No but really, we need to spread the Anzai awareness. #Anzai'sFace2k15No but really, we need to spread the Anzai awareness. #Anzai'sFace2k15...I had to....I had to. :lookofshock: Rango gets it. Welcome aboard. ...I had to.I feel we need Anzai's face as a smiley.... and Kit that freakin' Hawai shirt! fashion disaster and wrong spelling all in one.... Also, "I get as sentimental as a woman..." oh Yoshi as people said, Billy's story was amazing I loved that it was his Golden Retriever nature and not his fierce shepherd nature that made him hold on... But Takeru, you need to talk to people about this, not jump off clips like some Japanese fabio... dat mullet thoughThanks for the translation I adore this series! Oh, yes. Rascal knows what's up. It's time for Anzai's face. (Is this a meme, yet? Well, just wait.) = :trollicongasp: Don't deny the uncanny resemblance. Because you can't. And naturally, to follow up the above face... Of course I was translating diligently, what do you mean...That being said, I have... literally nothing to say about this chapter. Except that I enjoyed a dog not being beaten up to be tough, while it lasted, Rouou. When he says this, I think of this:Anyway I'm not sure if it's Yoshi that's building the anticipation well, or if I'm just really looking forward to the next chapter. Either way, thanks guys! I think there might be a grammatical error on Page 89, last panel. "This dog a Hiramaku. Like you, right?" I think you meant to say "dog's"? Thank you for the upload! Whoops! Thanks, FantaChan! We'll fix that when the chapters are all in the volume download Oh Anzai.... You never fail to amuse me. Never. Him saying 'yo' for some reason had me in tears.... don't ask why. Thanks a ton for the translation guys! Thanks a ton guys! Lovely job on the cleaning, Rascal wow! And that ending though... I really enjoy how Makoto actually thought about the ethics of dog fighting :S And is it me... Or did Anzai not make a weird face this chapter? Remember to check under your bed for monsters.....I'll be going up to Jerome, a town known for its infamous Grand Hotel, to stay there for a day and night for my sister' birthday. The hotel is one of the most haunted of the country, so I figured I'd finish this chapter up before I inevitably disappear and am never seen again (muahahahaaa). Oh nice! Remember to go ghost hunting with a really bad quality camera and shake it around a lot while you film. I'll be waiting to see your videos where you circle all the spooky stuff you witnessed. And moving on to: I'm laughing so damn hard right now... Now I'm never ever going to stop making keikaku jokes with Anzai. Never. Okay, okay, that's too much fun already, now let's move on to few words about the actual chapter: - I like how Takeru went “He has a secret we can't ignore... but I'm not going to tell you what it is. ” What a great friend you are. - Those judges were damn useless. They just sat there forever after Benigumo let out seri and then just went all “durrhurr this is dangerous we are not going to go between that derrrr.” Get fired, please. - If Makoto's father wasn't all abusive weird freak before this, I might've actually liked him in this chapter. - Like Ace said, it was good to see Makoto really think about dog fighting. I can't wait to see how he comes out of that one! - If Makoto's father wasn't all abusive weird freak before this, I might've actually liked him in this chapter. His dad took over Anzai's role of being weird... I like to try and picture what Makoto's mother sees in him... like reallyBut thanks Durango for pointing out the silliness of this chapter despite the story sometimes going full on goof, I gotta say I'm really enjoying the story! Well, he is pretty successful and admired by lots of people so maybe Makoto's mother just wanted to get a man that she could show off to her friends? Doesn't matter what the man's personality is like as long as he is a looker, y'know... Plot twist: Makoto's mother's a total playa. :lookofshock: And I agree with you, BnF is a lot of fun and not just because of the goofs, it turned out to be a lot better than I thought it would be! Diving right into the marital issues of Makoto's parents... And I'm actually wondering how this is going to end :S hmm... Again, I don't think it's something Yoshi would explore, but Makoto had a really interesting revelation at the end of this chapter. :lookofshock: we've found material for a BnF fanfiction.... Diving right into the marital issues of Makoto's parents... And I'm actually wondering how this is going to end :S hmm... Again, I don't think it's something Yoshi would explore, but Makoto had a really interesting revelation at the end of this chapter. BnF has all the best stuff for fanfiction... Just imagine this; a story where Makoto is all torn because his parents are having issues so he asks Takeru to help him out. Takeru does indeed find out a lot of secrets about them but because he is Takeru, he won't tell any of it to Makoto and he will just jump into the ocean again. All the while Anzai is doing a villain laugh because all the drama is just according to keikaku... Wait, that's not fanfiction that is canon. Sadly Anzai's facial expressions would not shine bright like evening lights from fanfiction, which I think is the true reason there is no fic truly great enough to portray anything BnF. ...what am I even talking about. Anyway yeah, we're almost half through the story (this was four volumes, right?) and right now I don't have much idea how it will end (apart from Zero getting his revenge which is pretty much given in Yoshi stories) but it would be really interesting if in the end Makoto would just decide against dog fighting and they'd move on together. Right now I'm just holding out hope that at least Makoto would keep that mind set a little longer and not like after two pages of somebody, his father maybe, telling him how manly dog fighting is just be over it. But... we'll see. I held off on being the inevitable first commenter (sans Rascal) because I didn't have any good Anzai faces or much to really say. But you guys never disappoint. Durango I never actually noticed that perfect setup for a keikaku joke! I'm so ashamed of myself, right now... I did notice that Takeru thing, though, and I literally waited the entire chapter waiting for it to come up, again. I guess Yoshi didn't have a keikaku for that. HUE. Though I agree the end was a major punch in the feels. I really feel for Makoto, there. I mean he knew it was a huge risk, since this dog was a hired hit man, but his dad bullied him into doing it anyway for macho man reasons. Then Zero really did almost die, and he feels like it's his fault for giving in, despite knowing better. Yoshi, what are you doing to me, here?! I think Makoto is my favorite human character of all time, quite honestly. And I love this story to bits! Hopefully the next chapter wraps this stuff up nicely, instead of just having Makoto "over it" like it was a passing moment of weakness. Edit: Perfection. You are talking about perfection.

I predict that Kobushimaru will get pummeled by Unryu IF he's still alive.

I have nothing much to say about this chapter that comes to mind. So I'm going to wait for other comments. But... The chapter title being about Zero's fighting spirit, when he doesn't even do anything in this chapter, is hilarious. As is Jin's Rambo hair. I'm SO glad that Makoto is still worried about what happened last chapter, though, and not just moving on, instantly, like that never happened. Even though the little spiel about manly manhood arguing making him somehow feel this deep nonsensical meaningful metaphor was incredibly random and made me laugh harder than it should have. Also Ranmaru is adorable. But I know what you all really want... (Anzai's Face, below.)

There's a grammatical error in BnF176.png in the second panel. The words "should know" is repeated. ^^' Other than that, I'm really liking how this is turning out.

Halfway through the series I'm excited to see what the hell is going to happen.... But Kit, I'm with you about the chapter title... Even though I am so happy that Makoto still has doubts about his decision to fight Zero. Hopefully his doubts will stick with him throughout the story. And Anzai.... We need a fanclub for that guy's face. The face he makes on the final page... Wow, major creeper peeper.

Let me just jump on the bandwagon and agree that the chapter name was hilarious. I did really enjoy the chapter, and I found myself instantly liking Jin for some reason. As Ace said, it's good to see that Makoto is still having doubts even if the chapter didn't really deal with that! Maybe Yoshi pushed him to the background for the chapter so he wouldn't need to have Makoto express such unmanly emotions? This has nothing to do with anything but in this panel at first glance I didn't realize the gray part also belonged to Anzai's hand, and I was already laughing at his teeny-tiny raptor claw before I realized I was wrong. Oh well, cheap laughs earned.
