this made me super excited to see hayate in the series! hes such a bad-ass looking dog! what was the point of mentioning yamatos mother though if shes never seen? thanks for translating it was a good story and i wish there was more to it.

I just got done with this and it was fun!
As much as I love the mention of Yamato's mom at all, I agree with Ryan in wondering what the point of mentioning her was. I almost expected to see her and was disappointed when I didn't. He made me, and probably a lot of other people, very curious about her since she may still live as a wild dog and I don't think Yoshihiro had any intentions of doing so. Lame. :/
I also wonder why he put so much significance on that female show dog as well. Maybe it was to show us that they steal show dogs too but I was kind of hoping she'd be more important than that. I was almost expecting Yamato to be a little smitten with her and I'm tempted to headcanon that. Best show dog + best fighting dog could prove to be cute as fuck. It's be corny but I eat that stuff up sometimes.
