But yeah I wonder if Gin would have been so quick to forgive Maxim if he had killed Weed instead... Most definitely not. It's only when it's not his family will he forgive them Then again, he almost killed Hougen ... hmmmm....

On what page was Oedipu's complex mentioned? On page 124. The Japanese word for Oedipus Complex is "マザコン" (mazakon), which is translated into Mother Con (as in complex) It's also a term for mama's boys in a...less than complex manner.

An enjoyable volume. My boy, Kyoushirou is back kicking some ass as he should. I'm really liking Maxim and Lydia's dynamic as siblings. You can tell they really care about each other. Something that did strike me this time around is how Jerome acknowledges he can't understand what it means to be a woman. Kind of a big deal, because in a lot of the Ginga-verse there's this assumption that women aren't as tough, but this shows that at least some characters realize there's more to being a woman than being weaker. Poor Suzaku, though. He has every right to be angry, but everyone basically keeps telling him to shut up and internalize his pain.

Thank you very much Fanta! Thoughts on vol 43: -So glad to see my boy Kyou being a fearsome leader again. He's so proud of his pups too, I love their relationship! Also everyone keeps telling him to stop being rash, but if he listened then Tsukikage would be dead. -More clear view of the historical events where war dogs were used was a good idea. Aram and Maxim's relationship is interesting. -Good to see Kyou's rock attack once again. And that he can understand when he's done a mistake due to his recklessness (see, this is why he and Orion should have bonded!) -Gin and Akame sensed a trap from early on, but mustn't have faced strategic enemies before if they were surprised by it regardless. -I feel bad for Suzaku being told to suck it up all the time whenever he's mad about his family's death... -Moss is the most relatable character here. Old, hungry and with no stamina

Volume 44 is complete. www.mediafire.com/file/ibb5da7hk ... GDW+44.zip TBH, this is my least favorite volume I've translated. My thoughts on this volume
-Aram is known as the most bloodthirsty and ruthless of the generals, yet he has to act like a coward to survive. BUUUUT Maxim seems to be okay with it so......?
-It's nice of GB and co. to get food for the new recruits, but how the f*ck are they going to find food for over 1,000 dogs??
-Nice to see Kite again. Too bad it's brief.
-"There's no such thing as a 'strong female.' She's just pretending to be strong!" *Sigh...*
-[Page 126-127] Okay, that's just gross...
-If I recall, drinking your own piss in dire situations causes more harm than good. Digsu from GB said it's like drinking salt water, so you'll dehydrate yourself by doing this...
-It really surprises me how far ahead Victor thinks. He thought about sending Weed and his soldiers in the opposite direction, he even predicted that the soldiers would try to escape through the eastern entrance, so he doubled up the defense on that end. He's probably the smartest of the Ginga villains I know so far.

I don't understand why you don't like this volume. It was one of my favorite volumes in entire GDW that reminded me why I love Russian arc so much Also, drinking urine only gets harmful when body is functioning normally. During intensely long drought periods of thirst and starvation, it's getting less and less salty as time goes on. Until the person dies. Not sure if this is true, but at least that's what I've been reading on SAS article, so must be legit, I guess?

-I'm really questioning the 1000 dogs thing too, on every degree LOL How are there 1000 of dogs in these little villages? How did Weed talk them all into following him into war for a part of Japan they have nothing to do with while also being just in time to help? I mean... they had to run 100's of miles for days, there's no way..right? how did every single 1000 of these dogs get loose without a problem or without their owners noticing? how are these even suitable fighters when they weren't trained? Not like Weed bring people foolishly in to die... right? -I'm shaking my head so hard at Cross. This is the same lady who was proud of being the only female allowed into the pack, and look what she's become. Pathetic .-. You trying to tell me the narrator was lying when he called you strong for a female, Cross? Or that all of Lydia's training doesn't = being strong? Okay then. Lots of respect taken away from Cross for me. -Victor is seriously a genius for a Ginga villain. It's insane, yet also disappointing it was all for naught since we know how this ends. -Although I know why, it's still annoying seeing how crazy strong the Russian dogs tore apart Hakuro's pack as if they were paper, but the Ohu Army is made out of steel and can't get hands ripped off them or anything? I mean I know the Ohu army been through enough already, but I don't think they should get out of being torn apart some too.
