Both these links will give you a .zip file. If a link is dead or broken, please let us know here so we can fix it immediately. Thank you! Reuploaded on November 2nd, 2014-- This includes all eight chapters! NOTICE: Because the first scans of the volume were from me, and my edition is different than Peewee's, I've kept in my edition's versions of the cover and jacket covers, the ToC, plus some pictures in the book that are different than Peewee's first edition. These pictures have been named 'secondedbonus'. Also, the wolf's name has been changed to Belmondo instead of Belmont/Belmond. Nearly each chapter with the opening illustration has some info to explain our changes and why something is translated like it is, plus some history lessons on the Sengoku era when historical characters pop up. This has been reuploaded with our modern logo! Enjoy!

Frankly I expected to dislike this manga since from the little bits and pieces I've seen elsewhere I was bored by the story. It just seemed way over the top and not anything I would enjoy reading, but turns out I was very wrong and the story had me pulled in after couple chapters! The history is amazing, and while I did find couple moves the dogs used ridiculous (but to be fair every Yoshi story has at least one fight that is completely absurd) it was not as over the top as I had been lead to believe. I didn't really care for the fact that Gamu was superior in every way, and Shiba and Kusakage were just the incompetent sidekicks who would stare and go “he is so magnificent!” but hey, that's already pretty basic formula in most of Yoshi's stories so I won't bash this manga for it. And they both ended up just jumping to their demise so I guess no need to worry about them.
I am however really bummed out that Belmondo was killed right when he was introduced! Damn, I wanted to see more of that cool wolf and his helicopter sword! He was well on his way to be my favorite from this story, but I guess nah. Honou seemed interesting as well, and it would have been cool to see more of her.
Oh and Lord Eda gave me a good laugh in the first chapter. He just got the explanation that Rando is the only one who can communicate with the Ganin, and then he goes to look all shocked and repeating the thing to himself with the classic “what does it mean?” at the end. Oh dude idk, maybe it means that he is the only one who can communicate with the Ganin? Y'know, like you were just told three seconds ago? Maybe you should go home to rest, My Lord, you aren't keeping with the program here.

I'm so glad you're liking Gamu! It's actually one of my favorites and tied with GDW (although GDW probably wins since it's longer and Yoshi doesn't get tired of writing it; you'll see what I mean when we get further in). I agree about Gamu, I don't mind him as a character but me and Kit had been discussing how it's so hard to make any conflict when three ganin were about to take out 5,000 soldiers pretty easily, and Belmondo just dies before we get a chance to know more about the people on the Gama Clan's side. The main problem with the story is, despite Yoshi actually attempting a backstory and history behind the characters, it's very short and stops being focused on in the second half. I still love the Gamu series though for being unique in more ways than one and not being as full of Yoshi's usual cliches as others.

Interesting read although Gamu has never been a favorite of mine. I'll look forward to seeing how the story continues. Thanks for the scanlation!

Whoa, this was actually a surprisingly good read! I was expecting something much different, but I'm glad with what it turned out to be!
Shiba is definitely one of my new favourite characters. And I think Gamu is one of the more interesting protagonists that Yoshi has written.
I'm going to have to start reading Vol. 2 soon I think!
Also Belmondo having a 'final form' made my week.
