From very very briefly flipping past that scene, I think he recognized Orion as looking like Riki, so I only can assume he wanted his sex to know whether he was in the war or not... or something. He was traveling with a tiny growing army, at the time.

If there's one thing I find the utmost intolerable is Yoshihiro's tendency to sexually harass his characters. Up until now, I thought it was just his lady characters that suffered from it. I hate it.

I can kind of excuse it for Hougan since he was supposed to be extremely evil and you weren't supposed to like him but it's still really gross.

But now, this boy, who is basically a CHILD, is being sexually harassed. For no other reason than to show that yes indeedy he is a boy LOOKIT LEMME PROVE IT by having my creepy old man dog force the boy against his will to show you. Even though we've told you probably 100 times he's a boy.
And, to make matters worse, all he gets for the exposure of a CHILD is a light bite on the head and then everyone's all buddy buddy. From what I can gather just by looking at the volume myself anyway. I can't read it but he doesn't get attacked and actually helps(?) Orion so

I know they're meant to be puppy dogs and all but since they have human cognitive thought, sense of "justice", and sexual harassment actually exists for them this really, really bothers me.

M-my brain hurts...

They have some human cognitive, yes, but they still exhibit dog behavior, and typical dog behavior is exactly what this is, as far as I can tell. I don't think he's trying to rape him or anything.

@ Kirby: Sexual harassment doesn't have to go as far as rape. Sexual harassment can be a "light" as just saying unwarrented, unwanted indecent things to someone, as what happened with Cross (to an EXTREME degree) and Reika.

And sexual harassment exists in canon, just based on the examples above.

What happened to Orion was indeed sexual harassment. He didn't touch his parts but he revealed him necessarily and against his will. He's also a child being held down by an old man to show off his sexual parts. That's terrible!

And what they do as dogs is often due to their limitations of being dogs (not having thumbs and so on), not so much having much to do with dog behavior. They act way more human than animal. The Ohu dogs, anyway.

And NO dog I, or probably anyone else, knows splits other dogs' legs apart to see what sex they are.

AbbyStabby Oh no, don't get me wrong, there are plenty of sexual harassment scenes in Yoshi's work, I'm aware of that! I just don't think this particular scene was intended to be that. I'm just saying that dogs stuffing their faces in each other's genitals is a way for them to gather all kinds of information, and I think that's what is being portrayed here, since Kit said the dog is saying "Oh, you're a boy".

It could be interpreted either way, since Yoshi gives his characters both human and canine characteristics. I'm just looking at it more in terms of dog behavior, while you're looking at it in terms of human behavior. There's nothing wrong with that, I just think it's interesting how a particular scene can be looked at in two completely different ways.

As for the older dog splitting apart Orion's legs... Well, that's probably how this picture ended up on this thread in the first place

Also, I in no way am defending sexual harassment in ANY form, I'm just giving my opinion on what's going on in this scene and how Yoshi portrayed it in the most awkward way possible: Dogs doing dog things in a human manner

I have to agree with Kirby here. Because it's dogs we're talking about, I don't see any sexual harassment. If characters were humans sure, but that would be another context.

You do know Ohu's actual, canon past-time is stuffing paws and sticks up each other's butts, right? Or even forcing fellatio as a joke, against another dude's agreement. This picture and others like it aren't new, and are the reason no one likes it when Yoshi tries to make a joke. He honestly will ruin quiet moments of the Ohu gang getting along and then suddenly someone is shooting shit out of their butt like a potato gun to try and hit the others. He is obsessed with it. It's literally become a meme picture now, along with Unsai being called Pedosetter. We've all become used to it because many more obnoxious toilet humor came along with GDWO.

Also that doodle you did fits perfectly with reacting to literally anything Yoshi ever does. I approve.

I think this part before the guy even lunges is pretty disturbing, since I thought he was buried alive by the Kouga at first and the expression on his "corpse" just lying there really creeped me out.


I saw this mentioned earlier but someone had said the scene with Hub killing the tiger and Yoshi driving it home in narration how much pain the tiger was in as it died slowly. I'm so sick and tired of his obsession with every animal in Yamato being killed horribly just for shock value (he does it plenty more times in later volumes). It just made me sad to read the scene and wonder why Yoshi puts so much effort to killing things so elaborately.


We all need to judge Yoshi a little harder.
