Shiroi Senshi Yamato / Yamato, the White Warrior
白い戦士ヤマト / Shiroi Senshi Yamato is most accurately translated as Yamato the White Warrior.
*All fighting dogs in the manga have 号 (gou) at the end of their names. This is not part of their actual name; this is to title them as a contestant in the ring. Because of this, we're not going to add 号 at the end of the every name.
*-maru (丸) is a very common name suffix that is still used today. Although we give the meaning of 'perfection' for it, -maru is not used for any specific meaning. It is seen as a very honorable name suffix because it was common for samurai to have, and also to give to their weapons. In real Japanese dog fighting, -maru is a popular name suffix for both male and female contestants.
