With a growing community and new friends, Ginga Scans is now going to be joining affiliations with other Ginga communities to help share scanlations and info to other languages. This will bring benefits to our affiliates so we can direct traffic to them and benefit us to help people find the source for our translations and ongoing work. Read further if you are considering becoming an affiliate to us!
Basically a site that another site is connected to in communication and helping each other out. It could just be a simple agreement to advertise or it could be because the two owners of the sites want to help each other out with benefits for both sides. It’s mainly to help traffic find the other sites, like an advertisement, but also to share related forums that have the same bulk community or the same goal.
Affiliates on most forums have ‘affiliate badges,’ which are small little icons, usually animated or colorful, to be placed somewhere on the site to be seen by members. People can click on a badge to be taken to another forum that the badge was advertising for. Being an affiliate means both sites must have badges for each other, not just one site.
Simply ask! Although I am only comfortable with being affiliates to regular members here who I have communicated with before. This means don’t register just to ask for an affiliation or don’t expect an affiliation if you rarely ever use our forum or post on it. I like to get to know the people that join up with us in community events and discussions.
Do not expect that being an affiliate means you can share our scanlations on other sites. We don’t allow that for several reasons and never have. Affiliates shown on our forum are trusted individuals. Anyone claiming to be affiliated with us but not being in our list should be reported to us because they are lying.
For people wanting to use our scanlations and translate them into another language, I am making it a requirement to be affiliates with us so I can keep track of our friends across the globe.
Privileges and scanlation distribution in other languages is something I discuss with our affiliates in private so that each affiliate has direct communication with me about it. If you have been given actual direct approval by Ginga Scans to use our scanlations to translate to another language, you are an affiliate. If you have not been given approval or haven’t told us about it, you either need to message me if you didn’t mean to have broken the rule or - if you are trying to be sneaky about it - we will simply make sure you can’t see our scanlations or forum again and let people know you are not to be trusted.

You can also see our affiliate badge (
) on the right side. Remember: if someone is using our affiliate badge or claiming to be affiliates but we do not have a badge linking back to them, they are lying.
