It says in a scan that two of Jerome's six pups were girls:



Does anyone know which two are his daughters? The English Ginga wikia lists them all as male, but I also read on the Finnish wikia at one point that he had two daughters. The Finnish wikia claimed that it was Sunny and Maru, but there is apparently an interaction between Jerome, Sunny and Maru that conflicts with this. (With Jerome saying he is happy to have both his son and daughter safe while Tonov is not present).

Between Jerome's deceased children, Lenov and Tetsuo sound like boys names, and Akira just seems like a male to me. At this point I'm 98% certain that Sunny is one of the females, but I can't tell who the second daughter is. Unless Yoshi either lied or forgot, haha.

Does anyone know, or have ideas/evidence? Thanks!

Weird glitch... a friend of mine had a similar glitch recently. However I screenied your thread to read your question.

I always wondered about this too. I do remember the fact Jerome was said to have two daughters and people thought it was Maru and Sunny, but then later was confirmed not true because he said something like "should be males and go fight for your mothers' death".
There's always the chance that the two that died with Lenov were the daughters, so Yoshi will never have to deal with worrying about which were females. But there's the big chance he forgot too ;;
I'm giving guesses either he truly did forget and scrap it oorrr Tonov is a girl since that's the only child that survived and is left with the group of "women and children" so.. typical Yoshi move ^^;

Honestly though, in the end, it's all speculations because sadly, Jerome's kids haven't gotten any spotlight like he did before.
I could try looking into their names but I'm pretty sure they're either all boy names or only like one ambiguous name.

Yeah, it sounds like Yoshi to kill them off or totally forget that they were female to begin with. ;p Oh, well. /shrug

So, Tonov and Lenov are both Russian boy names, Tetsuo is a male Japanese name, and Akira is unisex though leans more heavily in the favour of male use. So I'm guessing it was either Akira, or it was Maru and then s/he magically became a male.



Sunny seems to still be referred to as a daughter - let's see how long that lasts!

Yeah it completely feels like a Yoshi move to do.

If that's from ginga's wikia, it's most likely some fans having hopeful thinking, which I don't blame them for ; But if Jerome really only referred to Maru as the male, there miighhtt... be a chance...?
An interesting thing I noticed was that Tetsuo looks a lot like his mother. He's got the light fur, the heart shape, but is a boy. Sunny is said to be the closest to looking like Jerome... so if Sunny is a girl, that'd be really cool!

Yeah, the Ginga wiki isn't totally reliable, but here's to hoping one of the pups stays female... even though they currently list Sunny as a male. Everyone is all kinds of confused I think, including Yoshi.

Honestly, at first, when I thought Sunny/Maru were the girls I was really shocked and excited because they were two of the three survivors, and that's SO unlike Yoshi. A daughter of Jerome would have been the perfect female to inherit Cross's mantle as badass female soldier - better yet if it was two sisters and their brother.

And yeah, before their names were revealed I totally thought/hoped Tetsuo would be a girl! Since most of his female dogs are also pale furred and/or resemble their mother.

I'm kind of hoping for some real confirmation, but I'm mostly scared that by the time we get there, all of Jerome and Lydia's six pups will be magically pumping testosterone.

From my observations and knowldge, here's what I've gathered:

Lenov is a male. The narration referred to him as Lydia's son.

Tetsuo is a male Japanese name. Akira can be either male or female, so I'm willing to bed Akira is one of the girls.

As for Tonov, I'm willing to bet is a male. The one time he spoke, he uses "オレ" (ore), which is a word that males use to refer to themselves.

It's pretty much confirmed that both Maru and Sunny (Most likely spelled Sonny) are males. Jerome refers to Maru as a male, and Cross refers to Maru and Sunny as "sons." Not to mention they both spoke with the male language since the beginning of the series.

With that said, It's likely that Yoshi shook off the 2 girls thing and decided to make them all males. If Cross didn't refer to Maru and Sunny as Jerome's "sons," I was willing to bet Sunny was the 2nd girl.

We all know Yoshi killed the female pups... lets be real. I'd like to think akira was a female, though.
