A proper picture of all of the things i own. It isn't much, but i'm always looking out for extra >w< Since i showed my GDW english ones, i thought i would show you everything I'm waiting for volume 1 to get here in the mail, so i can complete GDW in english  Please use the Edit button to add content to your original post instead of triple posting. I merged your last two comments but I'm guessing you didn't see the Edit button  Unrelated, I had just seen those Yukimura/Shougun omnibuses on CDJapan earlier and was going to get them so I could scan them for their covers. Do they have any extra goodies inside or are they just the whole Yukimura arc? Sometimes the compilation books like those have special profile pages or something, but I've never really seen them around before |

Just use edit right now for that post, was the point. If you don't know how, look at the top right of your post, you'll see an 'edit' button. Click it, copy all of your post, then leave and go to the post you want to paste the comment in. I'll do it for you this time but that's how you do it so that you don't break the rules with double posting or triple posting.
Thanks for letting me know if there was anything inside. I kinda like the covers even though I'm not a Shougun fan

Ace Sure! I took a look in them today, since i haven't had the time, and there isn't anything which i really such a big letdown for me  But well, anything Ginga is wonderful but i had hoped there would be something extra like color pages or something, but there doesn't appear to be anything new.

Hey @ryan, how's the translation of GDW? Did they do a good job? Oooh, do you mind if I chime in on this one? I'm interested in hearing what Ryan thinks too, but I can give you my thoughts! Basically, it's not as bad as I'd expect. I have all three of the ComicsOne volumes that were translated before the company disappeared out of nowhere - a bit of an odd exit, but hey, whatever works for them - and the worst part I've seen is the little summaries on the back of all three. Those summaries are awkward to read with an air of google-translatedness about them, and the first one gets the names and titles all wrong. Good start ComicsOne, good start. Other than that, I didn't notice anything in casual reading that really threw me off. I can't compare the Japanese to the English side-by-side so I have no doubt there are inaccuracies, but again, for casual reading? They're not terrible. For some reason I'm pretty sure they replaces all strong language with 'child-friendly' alternatives ("aw, heck" shows up a LOT) which makes a weird contrast between this clean friendly dialog and dogs getting shotgunned in the face. They also have a couple just awkward english usage things, like when someone stutters they write it as "Ar-are you serious...?!" with that extra r instead of the sorta expected "A-are. . ." Again, I'm curious to see what Ryan thinks - to me, it's not unreadable at all, but it really really really makes you appreciate the beautiful unicorn translators that Kit and Rascal are  |

Hey, I know it's nothing compared to all of yours big and fanstastic collection but yesterday I got my first Ginga manga and I'm so happy in a way that I think only you guys can understand I had noticed that the "My first BIG special" about the Hougen arc had one volume with a big John on the cover and since he's my favourite character, I've decided to give it a go and buy it! After two months and a half, it's finally here!  (let alone the fact that the carrier who was supposed to give it to me, didn't bother to ring my house's bell and despite the fact that it was raining like crazy, tossed the package in front of my garage under the rain. I found out yesterday evening, my dad got back and was about to stop on it with the car. The package was soaked in water and basically, melted on my hands when I opened it but luckily, the manga was fine, as the vendor (saint man) wrapped some plastic around it and so, even if all was wet, the volume was not. Curse on you, carrier man!) |

I finally managed to get all three english editions of GDW, although the translations aren't that amazing i'm still happy to have them in my collection
I'm so happy i got my hands on the little pocket edition.
