As I've said previously in the shoutbox, these are translations done by moi, and not considered to be accurate translations done by our actual translators. I'm practicing Japanese to help Kit in the future with the abundant amount of different series she's working on, so attempting to read Yoshihiro's work, especially with his Tohoku dialect, helps me bit by bit.
I'd like to share my n00b work with everyone to discuss on the story itself, or get any help on the Japanese, if anyone who knows it better than me would care to explain or demonstrate what I did wrong or right. This is also to try filling in our gap of inactivity, and to show the basis of an upcoming story to get an idea of it.
I'll post the pictures of each page I'm translating to show the proof so others can see it. It'd be cheesy, in my opinion, if I claim all these translations without showing the actual page for people to compare them.
Special thanks to Tora for allowing us to use her scans of Anju to Jiroumaru for our scanlations, in the future.
“Living in Okuyama at the back of the Ouu Mountain range with her grandfather, the little girl is friends with four dogs.”
Because this one is so long, I really don't know how the sentence structure is going, since I'm still real bad about the little details in that. Some of the hiragana is also not making any sense to any online translator engines I've tried for reference, because Tohoku-ben I'm assuming is incredibly hard to find online, and for most Japanese to even understand fluently, who are outside of the region. Because I'm still not understanding the dialect that well, some strings of the hiragana go completely over my head... it wouldn't be so bad if the narration wasn't so long. Here's my guess on what I could piece together.
All I know is, Anju is a very sweet little girl who is wishing/praying for something, perhaps happiness in her life, but that doesn't occur until the latter half of the story.
Here's the opening page of Anju with the puppies. This one was easy to translate since it's just their names being called out.
"Taroumaru! Jiroumaru! Koyuki! Saburomaru! Come on!"
The actual pages, if it turns out I'm doing decently with the dialogue or find anything interesting, will go up next.
