Is there any difference in appearance between Gin and Weed? Because apart from the obvious scar on Gin's head, they look... Exactly the same, to me. I compared a few pictures, and they look like two clones. Maybe Gin is a bit more grey-ish? Are they supposed to look different? I'm not even sure.

I could easily tell the difference between them, until Yoshi changed art styles. (Right Click > View Image to see full size.) But then with Yoshi's lazier new art of GNG, I can't tell the difference. Unless you are referencing just the anime, in which case, the only real difference is that Gin has the typical Ginga adult "stoic eyes."

You're right, if I look close enough, I can see minor differences between the two in Yoshi's old style. when did switch to his new style?
As for the anime, doesn't Gin look more grey-ish to you, like his fur was desaturated?

As for the anime, doesn't Gin look more grey-ish to you, like his fur was desaturated? He started getting pretty lazy with his art around the Russian war dogs arc in GDW. (About halfway through the entire series.) But it spiked a lot in the following hybrid bear arc, and became much more noticeable in GDWO and GDA. I'm not sure when those GNG omnibus and specials first started coming out, but they've always looked insanely bad to me, to the point where I have trouble recognizing the characters as GNG ones, at all. I actually never noticed that in the anime, but I think you're right! I guess Studio DEEN might've tried sticking to Gin's namesake in a really lazy subtle way.

Ohh Yoshi's old style I love reading GNG because the art style is just amazing.... but yeeeah, the artstyle starts off a little different in GDW, but I couldn't tell you when the style started going downhill. Psst, you guys forget Gin gets a lovely stubble in the GDW anime....
