Hmm, not sure - I think those legs are more or less the same there. Picture 1 just looks shorter (and picture 2 - longer) because of an angle the dog is in.

Yet another questionable thing is why did Gin get Hayate and the other Iga soldier die, even through they were all protecting him with their own lives and it was already determined that they aren't cannibals. This one's been bothering me ever since I first watched GNG. Like, why? Gin could easily have beaten up the Kogas (which he later did), but he did nothing except watch. He even followed Hayate, but also without doing a thing, despite the fact that poor dog was even crying, for he didn't want to die (unlike others who were all suicidal). Where's the Glorious justice there? Hayate was forced to commit a suicide, against his own will, while Gin could easily have prevented that.

That's so true, what the heck! I really was disturbed when I saw Hayate's death because not only was he a unique, cute ginga character, the spikes piercing through was ... really . .. agh.
So knowing Gin just sat there, shocked THAT MOMENT OF ALL TIMES, and let it happen . .. is just sad :l

Something I just thought about..... Tesshin mentions that Gin traveled the country to say his sorries to the families that lost their members in the last TWO wars they had....... but Gin is 13-ish in the beginning of GDW, and gets with Sakura in the last 3-4 years of his trip........ And we all know the last two wars are the ones with akakabuto and the wolves.. ..... so did Gin go on a 12 year trip to say how sorry he was for the rest of his life!? O__O;;

Sadly, no numbers are ever brought up, but with some context clues, we can assume an age range at least.

-In Ginga, I guess it's easy to know when a dog is older or younger, like Jerome gets called uncle, Gin gets called elderly, and Weed gets called kid/brat. Shigure, when he runs into Genba, gets called a kid. Though this isn't the most reliable way since even Rocket gets called a kid/brat at some point by kamakiri ;

-They've never been in a fight before, since they claimed the fight against Genba's group was their first fight !

-When  Kurotora sees Smith's dead body, he introduces him to his nephews as if they never met him before, so I guess they weren't born during Kage's youth for Smith to have helped them hunt too.

-Something that I just picked up after rereading a bit of volume 8 and 9, when Kagetora and Ken are heading to Kage's home, he's mostly referring to his dad and brothers. We know this because they only catch 3 birds instead of 7. When the group of nephews attack them, Kagetora asks "Aren't you my nephews or cousins?!" meaning he doesn't even know what part of the family they are. They don't even recognize each other. And that they must be young enough to be even KAGETORA'S nephews.

-When Shigure makes it to Mutsu, Izou and his bros call him 'brother'. Though I think this can still be used amongst older guys too, Izou later tells Kisaragi that "they aren't the brats he thinks they are" and Hougen's war ends up being their very first war too, which makes me assume they're all pretty young-ish too.

Of course, this is all speculation since Yoshi never likes to provide enough >3> And I could even be missing some I forgot to look into... but for now, this sound like a good enough list. My guess would beeee.... around 1-5? I can't imagine Kai kens going long in Ginga without getting into some fights, seeing as how aggressive they are.

Kage I can almost swear haven't seen his brothers and father for at least 5 year (need too look that up in the early volumes). As Kage is kinda same age as Ken, and it's been almost 10-13 years since Akakabuto's fall to Weed's birth, meanin Kage would be at least 9-12 years old in GDW. Japan could've been in peace for years till Hougen descided to go against that. So my guess would be at least around 5 years old of the Kai cousins.

I would guess seeing how the Kai cousins are towards Kage, Ken and Jôji, they have fought before, just not in a war as in a real big fight. 

And Kage only cought 3 birds? As it was for his family, he didn't even think of his uncle Chuutora then either... So make sence if it could've been nephews as well if a brother or both would've found a mate, lol.

And in GNG I know Moss call Ben a kid or something, and still Ben is the oldest one of Ôu dogs.

Sooooooooooo many problems could be fixed if Yoshi hadn't made it 13 years since Akakabuto.........make it like..5 or 6
