Wait, is that Tesshin, his clone, or his son?

@bucciamarcia Nah, that's Tesshin, he's the interim leader for now while Weed's away and Orion's (usually) split off, taking command elsewhere.

@bucciamarcia The people in that scene besides Yamabiko and Orion are Izou (one of Kisaragi's sons. He had a small role in the GDW anime, but he was one of the ones Shigure brought, in the fight with Genba and Toubei.) two of Akame's three grandsons (Shirozaru and Muu.) Tesshin, and then Heizou and Tyson on the right.
As for the scene itself, did anyone ever expect Yoshi to canonically portray a non-Pink Dragon-y gay character? The knowing twinkles in the eyes of Yamabiko's men leaves me with little doubt that this is supposed to confirm Yamabiko has a legitimate crush on Orion. And it's frankly adorable. Look at that happy face. His day has been completely made. Yoshi, you surprised me, for once.

Oh, so I was not the only one who thought that was... More than friendship. I know what you did there, Orion.

I'm working on a big scene from volume 13 where Hougen finally gets sick of Sniper and buries him alive. I wanted to do bigger scenes to push myself a bit and it's a part I've always wanted to read, because later on Hougen decides he wants Sniper to lead his army in case something happens to him, but only if Sniper can prove he's worth the challenge. Sniper begins to train to walk without his wheelchair, completely shocked at seeing the prosthetic legs the humans gave him, because he couldn't see the legs when he was in the wheelchair with the blanket over his lower half. When he was thrown out of the house and down the stairs by Hougen, something in his spine got jostled back in place and the nerves woke up, leaving his legs able to move, but very weak and heavy. For now, I have the opening scene where Hougen tells Sniper he always suspected him of being an Ohu spy, and now that he has control over the stronghold (Gajou is not the name of the giant fort of rocks; the anime decided to not translate it for no apparent reason because 'gajou' literally means 'stronghold.'), he doesn't need Sniper's advice anymore. Sniper, of course, has no idea what Hougen's talking about. The other scenes will come up once they're done, but here's the first one for now.

Funny seeing Sniper being less rash than when he was younger.... Do I sense character development? And I think we can say that Hougen by far is the craziest ginga villain, wow.... Does Hougen refer to Sniper as Murder S or?

Awesome, thanks! Hougen IS bad. I'm starting to "like" him. Not him, but how his character is developed. He's more than the generic evil guy we see in too many stories, I like that.

I prefer GDW Sniper over GNG because he plans and actually does that whole "cunning" thing he was supposed to do in GNG, but when he trains and can finally walk on his own, he knows he doesn't just have to hope Hougen keeps him around for amusement since now his advice is considered useless. Hougen and Sneeper end up being bros later, but yeah, when even Sniper is shocked at how ruthless you are, you need to chill. Hougen's got a severe case of paranoia, even though at least he's trying to think ahead and not trust some guy that shows up and goes "Oh yeah, I was with Ohu but I don't like them," since Hougen doesn't know any of the history behind the place. And yeah, I don't remember why, but everyone calls Sniper in this Murder or Murder S. It is retarded but that's what Hougen calls him so I stuck with it

Does Hougen refer to Sniper as Murder S or? I believe "Murder S" is just a kind of codename/alias he made up for his new life. It's incredibly awkward, but as far as I know, Hougen never once calls him "Sniper." Sniper himself uses both, depending, and Gin still refers to him only as "Sniper," I think. I'm pretty sure he introduced himself to Weed as "Murder S," as I think I've only seen Weed call him "Murder."

Hougen is probably my favorite Ginga villain mostly because of how evil and sadistic he is. He's one of those characters who just make me love to hate them, and I always found myself just wondering what he was going to do next to outdo himself. It's pretty damn cold of him to have Sniper buried alive like that, though I can understand wanting to get rid of him since he can't really fully trust him. Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading more of the Hougen and Sniper stuff. I don't know a lot about Sniper's role in GDW since he got written out of the anime, so I'm excited to learn more about that. Good work with the translations so far, Rascal! Also, I think I may have a new OTP with Yamabiko and Orion. They're so cute together~

Very true, Hougen is a well done character because you really, really hate him. That's how the bad guy should be like. Also, I think I may have a new OTP with Yamabiko and Orion. They're so cute together~ Then this dynasty of bear dogs ends here.

As much as I love Sniper in GNG, I do agree he is not the sharpest of the bunch.... At least his temper gets away with him and I partly see that as the reason why Gin beats him in Shikoku. So Yoshi really made him a more interesting character in GDW, do we get to hear anything about who saved him and gave him his prosthetic limbs? And thanks Riscal and Kit for explaining I can't wait to see more.
